Proudly Covering the Big Island of Hawaii, Waikoloa & Mauna Lani Resorts

Frequently asked questions
Generally, no. If you’re staying in one of our regular delivery areas, we usually deliver the cart to your driveway. If we know your property manager or you’ve given us a garage access code, we can park it in your garage before or after your arrival — no need for you to be there.
The exception is the Palm Villas, which require you to be present at delivery. Please call us to coordinate unless you can provide a garage access code.
No. If you’re booking in advance, only a 10% deposit is required. We use a third-party credit card processor to securely store your payment information, and the balance is charged on your arrival day.
If you book less than 48 hours before delivery (by phone), full payment is required at the time of booking.
You can rent for one day, but the minimum charge is three days. For example, a standard four-seater cart
costs less than $170 whether you keep it for one day or three.
Keep in mind:
- The cart must be returned fully charged.
- A single-day rental usually doesn’t work for most guests unless you have reliable garage or outlet access.
Delivery is free within the Mauna Lani Resort complex and approved subdivisions of Waikoloa Resort.
- Mauna Kea, Hapuna, Hualalai, and Kukio Resorts: Free delivery for rentals of more than one week. Rentals under 8 days incur a one-day rental fee.
- All deliveries within Mauna Lani Resort are always free.
Drivers must:
- Be at least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license.
- Sign our rental rules acknowledgment and liability waiver.
- Have access to a garage or electrical outlet for charging.
On your return day, text us with the time you’ll finish charging the cart. We’ll arrange pickup. Instructions for securing the key, charger, and charging cords will be provided.
- 48+ hours before start date: Fully refundable.
- 24–48 hours before start date: 25% fee.
- After delivery: One-day rental fee charged for each day (or portion) the cart was in your possession.
Yes, during non-peak seasons we offer discounts for:
- Verified veterans
- Hawaii homeowners
- Repeat customers (with a code)
LSVs (Low-Speed Vehicles):
- Are faster (up to ~20 mph vs. 9–13 mph for a standard golf cart)
- Always have seatbelts
- Often have additional safety features
Yes. However, within our primary rental resort areas, all roads are private, so LSVs aren’t required. Even if a cart is street-legal, it cannot leave the resort because connecting highways have speed limits over 25 mph.
Inside most subdivisions, speed limits are 9–15 mph (sometimes lower).
When booking, you’ll see a “Required Documents” tab. After completing your own documents, you can email them to up to two additional drivers (at no charge). All drivers must meet the rental requirements.
Policies vary by subdivision:
- Not allowed: Hilton properties (hotel, Hilton Vacation Club, Kings’ Land), Beach Villas, and Shores
(exceptions possible at the hotel for events, but must be coordinated directly).
- Allowed (with charging access): Hali’i Kai, Ainamalu, Kolea, Colony Villas, Fairway Villas, and most others.
Be sure you have a garage outlet available for charging.
You can use the cart anywhere on the private roads of the Mauna Lani Resort, including:
- All four beaches
- The shopping center and supermarket
- The Beach Club
- The Auberge and Fairmont Orchid hotels
Carts are popular for trips to the Beach Club, restaurants, shopping, petroglyphs, and Black Sand Beach. The hotels will even valet park your cart (please tip as you would for a car).
Carts cannot be taken onto public roads outside the resort.
All of our LSVs have seatbelts, and many larger carts do as well. If seatbelts are important, please request them and we’ll do our best to accommodate.
Note: You’ll need to bring your own child seat if required.
Standard carts: Designed for a couple rounds of golf per charge, which is enough to get anywhere in Mauna Lani Resort. Plug in every time you return; chargers shut off automatically when full.
LSV carts (lithium): Have about double the range. Plug them in when they drop below 70% so they’re always
ready.
Call us through our website as soon as possible. We usually respond within a few hours (depending on time of day).
If you have a flat tire, move the cart off the roadway and notify us immediately.
Yes. All carts have multiple trackers (some visible, some hidden). Occasionally, customers may receive a “tracking device alert.”
Tracking is only used if a cart is reported lost, stolen, missing, or not returned. We do not store or use travelhistory beyond those circumstances.
Our online booking system doesn’t allow reservations within 48 hours. Please call us, and we’ll send you a special link to complete your booking.
- Two weeks or multiple carts: Call us for the best available discount.
- Monthly or longer rentals: We offer significant savings and can create a custom quote.
Yes. We offer utility vehicles with a best-rate guarantee — we’ll match or beat any competitor’s price.
Most properties have a 10 AM checkout and 4 PM check-in, so we try to deliver/pick up during that window.
- If you arrive the night before, we usually deliver before 10 AM (often earlier).
- If you book for 6 days, you’ll have the cart for the full 6 days from delivery.
When booking, provide your arrival and departure times so we can maximize your rental time.
